Before now, you simply had to drop messages in the Direct Message (DM) and hope the user’s online to reply you. Well, it has all gotten better now. You can know when your friend is online, and chat with them straightaway. This green status dot is only enabled for users that are either following you or have messaged you previously in the DM. Simply put, it means it’s only activated currently for those you’re communicating with already.
This feature has been activated by default on the platform. However, you can put it off in the “Activity status” arena of the app’s settings menu. In so doing, you can prevent others from seeing your status, and you not seeing others’ statuses too. Before now, you could actually see when last a friend was active in the DM. That’s a form of activity notification, and it hasn’t changed. With this development, let’s simply say the addiction level to the social media will increase for the already addicted folks.
