The data of users under 18 years of age, gender, and their interest in an item or thing will not be used to display ads by Google. Based on information from The Verge, Google apparently also presents a special option for users under the age of 18 to request that their photos or images be removed from Google Images if they appear on the site. Then Google will also activate the SafeSearch feature by default so that the content or website displayed in Google search results will be safer because it has been reviewed first by the Google system. One of the reasons Google does this is to protect the privacy of users who are not yet old enough to use the internet, so this update helps better protect these underage users while surfing on its service. Previously, other services such as Facebook have also introduced a policy that enforces accounts of users under the age of 16 years to be private by default.
